Location

Our hotel, with its unique view of the Neckar River and the Philosopher's Walk ("Philosophenweg") is located in the middle of the historical old city centre of Heidelberg, directly opposite the Old Bridge. The market square, where the town hall and old Church of the Holy Spirit ("Heiliggeistkirche") are situated, as well as the university, the congress hall and the theatre nearby, can all be reached within a few walking minutes.

The castle is about 15 minutes walk from the hotel. You can also use the cable car which is at a short distance to the hotel. The beautiful gardens surrounding the castle are opened to the public day and night. Please ask the schedule for guided tours at the front-office.

The Hauptstraße, the pedestrian area of Heidelberg, is around the corner where you can shop easily or enjoy the lovely cafes and student inns as you walk along.

Many famous poets, philosophers and intellectuals described the Philosophenweg as a fascinating popular "promenade". Looking down from the Philosophenweg you will have a wonderful panoramic view of the Old City of Heidelberg.

For taking a boat ride on the river Neckar you have to walk 10 minutes from the hotel towards the Congress Center -Stadthalle- opposite of which you can embark the boats. Please ask for the exact timetable at the front office.

You can also explore Heidelberg by bycicle. The bycicle rental is right next to our hotel.
